The Music of Richard Rodgers
A Solo Piano Performance
Richard Rodgers collaborated with two lyricists:
Lorenz Hart from 1925 to 1942 and thereafter with
Oscar Hammerstein II. The influence of these lyricists
created two different styles of composition by Rodgers.
This class will explore and explain the differences
between these two bodies of work and the ultimate
effect they had upon Rodgers’ music. In addition,
compositions of Richard Rogers will be performed at
the piano.
